Canada Customs invoice
(CCI)
For all commercial shipments entering Canada, the Canada
Customs and Revenue Agency (CCRA) requires either a

Government of Canada and for most provinces and territories;
and various social and economic benefit and incentive

Canadian Automated Export Declaration
(CAED)
Free software provided by Statistics Canada that gives
registered exporters and agents the opportunity to report
goods electronically, over the Internet, to the Federal
Government of Canada instead of via the paper-based

Canadian Food Inspection Agency
(CFIA)
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency delivers inspection
and quarantine programs related to foods, plants and
animals. Products that may be subject to inspection
certification by the CFIA range from agricultural inputs,
such as seeds, feeds and fertilizers, to fresh foods
(including meat, fish, eggs, grains, dairy products,
fruit and vegetables) and prepared and packaged foods.

Canadian Intellectual Property
Office (CIPO)
Canadian Intellectual Property Office, a Special Operating
Agency associated with Industry Canada, is responsible
for the administration and processing of most aspects
of intellectual property issues in Canada, including
patents, trademarks, copyrights, industrial designs,
and integrated circuit topographies. (Plant breeders’
rights are the responsibility of Canadian Food Inspection

quasi-judicial institution in Canada's trade remedy

(CSCB)
The Canadian Society of Customs Brokers represents the

(CSA)
Canadian Standards Association tests products for compliance
to national and international standards, and issues

Canadian Trade Commissioner Service
(TCS)
The Trade Commissioner Service helps companies that
have researched and selected their target markets. Trade
commissioners located in 12 Canadian cities help companies
to find new markets abroad; trade commissioners located
in more than 140 cities worldwide help identify key
foreign contacts, and obtain relevant advice and intelligence.
